Meet Kristerfer Burnett

A lifelong Baltimorean, Kristerfer Burnett is passionate about making Baltimore a more just city for all of us.

He has dedicated his life to the people of Baltimore, working on a range of social justice issues on the City Council, including affordable housing, urban development, education, safety, livable wages and more.

A graduate of the University of Maryland, Kristerfer Burnett and his wife, Vanessa, are third-generation homeowners in Edmondson Village.

MAKING BALTIMORE

STRONGER TOGETHER

Building Stronger Schools

As our city council member, Kristerfer Burnett has fought to increase funding for our schools, worked with state officials to secure funding for new school construction and recreation activities, and set our students up for success.

Creating Safer Neighborhoods

We need police who will protect and respect every member of our community. As a member of the Public Safety Committee, Kristerfer Burnett co-authored the “Live To Be-More” public safety plan, which promotes a more holistic and public-health focused approach to public safety.

Cleaning up Government

Kristerfer Burnett has fought to take big money out of politics and create more transparency at Baltimore City Hall. He has joined colleagues at the federal, state and local levels to help pass campaign finance reform.

Protecting the Most Vulnerable

Kristerfer Burnett created and co-chairs the Baltimore City Human Trafficking Collaborative to end the trafficking of children and adults, and worked with colleagues to leverage $20 million toward affordable housing options in our city.
